How to Hang Inexpensive Large Area Rugs on your Wall

First, clean the wall where the area rug will be mounted. Second, measure your area rug and make sure that you used pencil in outlining where the area rug will be placed on your wall.

Third, attach Velcro on the backside of the area rug. You can stitch the soft side onto the backside of the area rug. Make sure that you have enough around the area rug so that the Velcro will be able to hold the weight of the entire area rug. Fourth, attach the other side of the Velcro onto plywood. Make sure there’s enough of the Velcro and will coincide with the same spots where you stitched Velcro onto the area rug.

Fifth, attach the area rug onto the plywood. You will need help to keep the area rug stretched while attaching it to the plywood. Sixth, you can now mount the plywood on the wall. With this wall-mounted large area rug, an otherwise boring wall can now become a conversation piece.
