Discount Area Rugs

Area rugs that are made with natural fiber, woven tight and well, can be very durable and last your lifetime. Fine area rugs can be a family heirloom and thus investing in them can be a wise choice vis a vis buying cheap area rugs.
How Do You Buy Expensive Area Rugs Within Your Budget?
Here is a tip that many wise buyers do: Search for discount area rugs. Cheap area rugs are also good buys depending on your objective and use for the area rugs. If you plan to change the area rugs often and use them in high traffic areas of the house, buying the cheap area rugs would be a good decision.
But if you want to buy ones that are of fairly good or better quality but are a bit apprehensive that they can be pricey, then go for discount area rugs. Discount area rugs are the same quality as any other area rugs. They come in different materials, density, shapes, sizes, colors and design.
Decide What Material
The material choices are many. The type of fiber that is used in constructing the area rugs determine how they feel and how well their performance is.
There are 2 basic types of fiber:
1. Natural
- wool
- cotton
- silk
- bamboo
- jute
- sisal
- coir
2. Synthetic or Man-made
- Nylon
- Polypropylene
- Viscose
- Acrylic
Decide What Shape
What is the best shape that would look nice on your living space? Will it be used in your dining room? Is your dining table round? Oval? Square? Rectangular?
The shape of the area rug doesn’t necessarily have to follow the shape of the furniture. A rectangular dining set would look nice on either a rectangular area rug or oval area rug. Just be careful on making sure that the chairs won’t fall out of the rug once the chairs are pulled out.
Measure The Size
As a rule of thumb, you add 24 to 48 inches around the furniture, when buying area rugs. You want bigger area rugs if you have cold tiles or if you want to conceal unsightly portions of your flooring.
Utilize Optical Illusions to Your Side
1. If you have small rooms, you don’t want dark colored area rugs. Buy light colored ones.
2. If you want to add warmth in a large room, buy dark area rugs.
3. Big bold geometric designs will make small rooms look smaller, so go for smaller prints.
4. If you have cold weather, you might want to go for shag area rugs or wool area rugs.
5. If you live in hot weather, bamboo or sisal can be nice additions to your room. You cannot go wrong with neutral colored wool area rugs.
Discount Area Rugs – Are the Choices Limited?
There are a variety of choices for buying discount area rugs. One thing to consider is the maintenance expense once you have bought your area rug. Take for example, large area rugs can cost more in the long run since you will spend more on carpet shampoo and cleaning.
If you have a certain budget, wouldn’t that limit your choices to the ones that your pocket book can afford?
But honestly, buying discount area rugs may even have widened your choices because instead of going for the cheap area rugs, you could now include some pricey stuffs in your shopping cart.
Wouldn’t that be a wise decision after all?
